Graduation

After switching schools at the start of middle school, 3 years has flown by. Suddenly, we are sitting at a graduation ceremony watching this group of kids get ready to separate and head out to various high schools.

Graduation

Sydney seems pretty proud and maybe a bit overwhelmed at all the goings on.

There she is on stage getting her diploma.  There is a slide on the screen with info on her and a quote but the camera couldn’t pick it up.

Sydney’s friend group after graduation is over.  Heading to the dance!

Guess she grew up.

Well, off to high school in the fall.  See you with another graduation post in 4 years!

Talent Show

By BrandonSchoolLeave a Comment

At the end of each school year, they have a talent show. Sydney sang a solo in the prior year and got 2nd place. This year she paired up with her friend, Ester, to sing a duet. They had a few technical difficulties but that is what you get with live shows. Always a challenge to get up in front of a full gymnasium of students and parents and have everyone stare at you.

Pop Evil @ Summit Music Hall / Denver, CO / Feb 2017

Sydney joined me to go see Pop Evil at Summit Music Hall. We had seen them together there a while back too. It is one of the only venues that is a bar yet all ages welcome. I love that about this place.

These guys have put on a great rock show ever since I started going to see them.  The albums have gotten more solid along the way as well.

First show with the new female drummer.  She was pretty awesome.

Sydney is about as tall as me so even right down in front, my kid gets a great view.

Leigh was having fun with the crowd all night.  Eventually, he popped down right in front of me.  Blurry, but you get it.

Then he told us all to get down.  He is short.  Then we sang the end of Footsteps together there on the floor.

Back on stage to finish.

I love taking my kids to live music.  Hopefully, they appreciate it as much as I do as they get older.
