Permalink Why Do You Always Bring Me Here?

Whenever Mom doesn’t feel like going out, we head to Red Robin. Sydney is mad about it. She wants to go somewhere else. She claims she has done every game on the kid’s menu and is bored by them.

Permalink Family Hike at Panorama Point

Natalee and Kyle were set to leave this afternoon. The weather was supposed to be wet this morning but we awoke to sunny skies. Anyone want to hike? Figured Kyle thought we were nuts. Can’t we sit still? Uh, nope. So we packed up the kids, the dogs, and the guests and headed out for a quick hike. But some of us couldn’t resist a little trail running.

Permalink An Eldora Day

We hit the hills again today but took Sydney along for added excitement. I spent the day trying to take her to the next level of skiing. However, I quickly realized that I don’t know how to teach. Ski instructors have all the cute stuff that kids get — french fries, pizza, etc. I am yelling “put outward pressure on your heel”…to which Sydney says “What’s a heel?”. Damn it. Ok, time for ski school. A couple runs later, I am trying to instruct again and getting frustrated and Sydney yells back at me, “Sign me up for a class ALREADY!”. I about fell over laughing.

Once again, it was about hydration and snacks while on the chair. Plus, the weird desire of Sydney’s to know how it hurt or what she would break if she jumped off the chair. Kind of a daredevil. Anyway, Natalee decided that she could no longer stand being a virgin — so she rented a snowboard to see what that is all about. I, long ago, decided to stick to the sticks but Natalee had to see what life was like on the other side. She spent the first few runs on her butt. However, she quickly seemed to be upright more than on her butt and was getting it by the end of the day.

Not as much scenery at Eldora but always a great day. No I-70. $30 a lift ticket cheaper. Park right at the lifts. Can’t go wrong there.

Sydney wrapped up a little early and we got more snacks and soda at the lodge. But we had to take a picture with this guy before going. I told her to get closer and she put her arm around him. Cute.

Sydney said I should take a picture of myself. Ok?

Aunt Natalee and Kyle head home in the morning. It was a whirlwind visit — always is. So much to do, so little time.

Permalink 100 Days Smarter

Sydney’s class has been counting every day of school. The big goal was to get to 100 days. And today is the day. She is now 100 days smarter — so that deserves a party! All the kids had to bring in various things symbolizing the number. Syd brought in 100 gummy bears. I tried to get an update on the way in to school from her.
