Californication Complete
Last day in California, so we gave Sydney the tour of the Big Sur coast. We spent time hiking in the redwoods and taking in some views along the way.

We ended the day at the beach where the kids got dirty in the sand.

Sydney had a great time in California! It takes her about 20 minutes to list out all the stuff she had fun doing and why.
High Score
Syd started playing some weird game called Bubble Breaker on my Treo during dinner. She seemed to get it. I played once at got a 200 score and felt like a champ. Then Sydney kept playing and got higher and higher! Now she just got a 320 as seen here!

Do Not Try This At Home
The girls spent the day at the San Jose Children’s Museum while I was at work. This seems to be their favorite museum because there is so much hands on stuff to do!

A Day In Monterey
Usually, we drive down to Monterey and then drive home that day. This year we decided to stay down on Cannery Row for 2 nights so we could enjoy the weather, activities, and animals a bit longer.
For Kim and I, one of our favorite things to do down here is climb on the rocks. And our child Sydney follows in our footsteps. We took her over to Lover’s Point and she was off. Jumping from rock to rock. Wanting a picture at every “summit” she could find.

The girls then went down on to the beach to look for crabs, shells, and lots of other stuff lurking in the water.

We ended up going to the aquarium twice — both near the end of the day so we were the last ones to leave. It was kind of nice to have the place to yourselves for a few minutes before closing time.

Dress Up Day
Last day in San Francisco and Sydney demanded that she get herself dressed. Any ideas on what the wardrobe would consist of? Mulan dress again! Check out the foggy structure in the background.

We headed up Coit Tower to get a final look across the city.

Another pose!

As we checked out of our hotel, Sydney had to get a picture with Tom, legendary doorman of the Drake. he got to dress up today too!

Big City Girl
Sydney got to spend a weekend in San Francisco! It was Mom’s birthday so we hit the town in style. For Mom’s dirthday dinner, we went to the Tonga Room — which Sydney now believes is the coolest place ever. They have rainstorms, drinks with umbrellas, a dance floor, and a boat on pond with a live band on-board! She made it through a 2-hour dinner with no complaints.
The next morning, it was off to breakfast. How about some little pancakes for a big city girl?

As we were waiting for the cable car ride, Sydney decided that she was in the fasion district and it was time to show the goods.

As the people started hanging off the cable car, Sydney lost her view. But she stayed entertained until we reached our destination.

Sydney demanded the we take her picture by the “trolley” one last time!

When are we going to see the Sea Lions? That is what Sydney always remembers about San Francisco. So we headed over to see how they were doing after the oil spill in the bay. Looks like everyone is fine and snoozing to us!
