Santa Visits
We heard sirens outside our house. Uh oh. When we went outside, we found Santa walking down the street in front of several fire trucks that had all their lights on. Seems that the fire department was escorting Santa around our neighborhood to say hi to the kids. Sydney thought this was pretty cool but expected that Santa would come and stop by. Santa was also giving out candy. When we got her back inside, she had about a dozen candy canes in her bucket. She picked up that trick at Halloween.

Merry Christmas
Wow, I love Christmas!!! This year Christmas was really fun with Sydney. She had it all figured out this year. Be a good girl and this guy Santa will bring you lots of presents. We made several visits to the mall to sit on Santa’s lap and give him lots of hugs. She told everyone who would listen that Santa was goign to come to her house with the reindeer. So the night before Christmas at our house Sydney made Santa her special sprinkle cookies. She decided Santa would prefer some water over milk since he would be very thirsty.

Then the next morning she woke up to find all sorts of presents around the Christmas tree. She knew it had been Santa because she had heard his reindeer outside during the night and his cookies were gone.

He even left her a stocking full of all sorts of goodies.

She must have been really good this year to get all those presents.

And the best part of Christmas. Start opening those presents.

This year the major item brought by Santa were princess related. Sydney is all about the princesses this year. She got an entire chest full of princess shoes and crowns for dress up time.

Little Swimmer
As a wrap-up from our trip, I have put together a video to showing Sydney’s swimming skills. We were very impressed because going into this trip, we haven’t had much luck getting her to swim.

Tales of Sydney
Tale #1
Sydney was playing in Mom and Dad’s closet this weekend while Mommy was in the shower. When all of a sudden she came running out saying, “I ate the honey.” “Honey” in Sydney talk means money. She was pointing to her stomach saying “It’s stuck.” Great, what do I do now? When I asked her why she ate the money she simply said. I eat the honey like purple pig. Now I get it. Purple pig is her piggy bank. If piggy can eat the honey why can’t she. Logical to a two year old. Long story short. For two days I checked the diapers for this honey and finally it appeared. A not so shiny penny!
Tale #2
Sydney has been cracking us up lately with what she says. The latest was slightly embarassing at the time but sounded so grown up you couldn’t help but laugh. We were at the store trying to buy a very hard to find Christmas toy for Reagan. The clerk came up to us and told us they had no more in stock. Out of nowhere Sydney blurted out, “Oh my God! You kiddin me!” Spoken just as plain as could be and with such conviction. We have now gotten her to drop the first part but the way she uses “You kiddin me” still cracks us up.
Tale #3
I have always shopped for Sydney’s X-Mas or birthday gifts while she was with me. Didn’t matter, as soon as we got home she forgot about them. Well, this year she is totally excited about the fact that Santa is riding Rudolph to our house to bring her presents. In fact we fake call Santa to tell him not to bring any presents when she is being bad. Works every time. This year as always she was with me when I bought the stocking stuffers and a couple other gifts. Now several weeks later she keeps asking me for the stuff in the white bag and the Snowman presents. I finally put it together that she is talking about the toys we bought at Wal-Mart who has white plastic bags. I wrapped them in snowman paper and put them in our closet hidden under a blanket. At two years old she is already sneaking around the house for presents. Great, now how do I convince her that Santa brought the gifts not Mommy?

Doin’ the Hula
I have recently discovered the wonderful art of dress-up. Here I am sporting the hula girl look.

What a grass skirt with a little hula dancing? Lucky for me I got this little guitar in Mexico last week so that I could supply my own tunes.

Here’s a shot from deep within the action. Check out how well I can get my skirt twirling.

Here’s a funny story for you. Mommy had bought me this hula kit when we were in Hawaii two years ago. She had forgotten about it but found it when cleaning out the closet. When she opened it up I immediately saw the red fabric and asked “What’s that.” She said it was a bra. I immediately threw off my shirt and said, “Put it here for my boobies.” I can be a little too girly at times.

I Love My Baby
I love my sister so much that I need to be right next to her at all times. Depending on my mood Reagan either loves to have me close or can get a little scared. I guess you would too if one minute you were being flooded with kisses and the next you were being knocked over. Hey, I’m the big sister. There are certain duties a big sister must fulfill.

Big Hugs!!!

Puerto Vallarta
Wow, what a great week I have had. We just got home from our vacation to Puerto Vallarta and here are lots of pics from my favorite moments.
Day One
As soon as we checked into the hotel we jumped into our swimsuits and hit the beach. Nana had never been to Mexico before so I had to show her around the beach.

Of course, I then needed some me time to play in the sand. I liked to scoop up handfuls of sand and throw it up into the air. Everyone thought I looked like a weirdo but it sure was fun.

I just HAD to bring along my picnic basket just in case Daddy needed some food.

What girl doesn’t like to shop. This was awesome. You just relaxed on the beach and the sales paople came right to you. Check out this bracelet Mama bought me.

We were soon getting a little hot so time to hit the pool.

Day Three
Today we started out on the beach again. Daddy had a rough night because I just didn’t want to sleep so I thought he needed a little pick me up kiss. We had a lot of fun Daddy time today.

I must have had sand on my lips or something because he didn’t like it as much as I thought he would.

He must have gotten over it because he helped me build this awesome sand castle. Don’t tell him but he kinda build it too close to the ocean because it was soon taken by the waves. Oh well, we still had fun building it together.

Cooling off in the pool with Daddy and Reagan.

After all that excitement its time for chow. Here I am teaching Nana how to eat the Mexican food.

Day Four
Today was an especially big day for me. We spent pretty much the whole day in the pool which was just fine by me. Daddy went over to the kids activity desk and got me these cool floaties. I was scared of them at first but I quickly got the hang of them. I could swim all around the pool and not be tied down to the old folks. It was very liberating.

I made everyone take a turn at swimming through the lazy river with me. It had cool bridges, or tunnels as I called them, you could swim under. Here I am with Mommy. Not sure what she was thinking with that face.

Reagan even got in with us for awhile. Poor Mommy had to swim around holding both of us. Just between us… I think she really liked it.

Daddy made it in with us as well.

Papa was so amazed by my swimming abilites that even he had to get a close-up looked. I think he was really impressed with the show.

Giddy-Up Papa!

Day Five
Another day at the pool. Today I requested that Nana and Papa take me to the popsicle store for a treat. Nothing like a pospicle on a hot day.

The long days of swimming were beginning to take their toll on me by now. I discovered that the beach chairs and beach towells make a pretty decent bed. From today on, as soon as lunch was over I decided to take a nap in this chair. Doesn’t look like it but it sure was comfy.

Tonight we decided to take a walk to the nearby marina. Papa liked to look at all the huge boats docked. It was a great place for Daddy to get a picture of his girls.

The days here are so fun that I decided I would not go to bed at night. Since Reagan was asleep in the room Daddy decided it best to walk me around the hotel to try and make me tired. I instead decided to dance at the pool parties and just be wild. Every night I would find this birdie asleep in the same spot on the rocks. It became my nightly ritual to find the birdie and tell him goodnight before I would go to bed. This was usually around one o’clock in the morning. Never fail, every night my birdie was there.

Day Six
More of the same today. Here I am on the beach in my bikini.

Day Seven
We are in Mexico so what better place to play Dora the Explorer. Back Pack and I had all sorts of adventures today. Here we are rescuing my bouncey ball from the pool.

Lounging pool side eating Cinderella snacks. This is the life.

Most nights we walked downtown Puerto Vallarta. Tonight we got a great shot of the family as the sun was setting.

Another great family shot in the old part of downtown Puerto Vallarta.

Group Shot

Day Eight
Today is Daddy’s birthday and time to head home. But, not before we got some final shots of the hotel grounds. This was a totally posed shot but still pretty.

Is that a banana tree? I had to get a closer look. Oh, and the river here was home to lots of big goldfish. Mama got me some fish food so that I could feed them daily.

The hotel was full of lots of cool critters running around. Here is a final shot of my friend the iguana. He climbed all the way up to the top of this palm tree. I thought they were nice until I saw two of them fighting.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures. I had a blast at the beach and by the end of the week was even saying a few Spanish words to the locals. When can we go back?
