Downhill Dora

We took Sydney for her first sledding adventure today. We drove out to Rocky Mountain National Park. It is about 30 miles from our house. It was about 50 degrees at home but it was nice and snowy up there.

Time for the first ride. Mom caught us in action.

I was getting tired hauling Sydney and the sled back up the hill. The elevation is the issue. We got a few good runs in. This is a pretty tame sledding hill.

On the way out, we stopped to see a herd of elk grazing. Sydney was really confused. Were these moos? Or were these neighs? She kept alternating.

What a good Da-Da you have, and handsome I might add. Uncle Ben is here today and he was just saying he’d sure like to come skiing with you. It has been VERY cold and icy in Indiana — not enough snow to ski. We’re getting ready for church now — Miss you all — please take care of Mommy! So glad to hear your heroic Da-Da races to Mommy’s rescue with the explosion incident (although the duck sounded very tasty). Pictures of Mommy please with your sister. Love from Grandma and Grandpa Hakes —

Oh, this looks like great fun! Which did you like more–sledding or the elk? It must be nice to have 50 degree weather and drive a short distance if you want to play in the snow.

    Enjoyed the pictures.
