Permalink It’s Gardening Time!

Today I decided it was time to start Syd on her portion of the gardening around here. You all know how much I love to garden so Syd is going to have to get started early. Here are a few pics of her with my spring bulbs. Aren’t they beautiful. Oh, Syd looks great too. Here is Syd admiring my hyacinths…

Here is a shot of Syd with the Daffodils. At this point she was not being much of a help as she was taking the mulch out of the beds and either throwing it on the sidewalk or eating it.

Then all of a sudden as we were minding our own business the Easter Bunny showed up and egged our trees. As you can see I caught the guilty party in the act.

Syd is turning into quite a little daredevil. She is starting to climb up onto things as the walking is now old news for her. Here are some action shots as she conquers the great flagstone wall. Notice all the dead grass on her rear end. We have Grandpa Herbie to thank for this mess :)

Lastly, here is a pic of Syd’s new shoes. These shoes are absolutely awesome for new walkers. Syd would not walk in any shoes so her socks were looking nasty and people were giving us weird looks as she walked around restaurants or wherever. These shoes, called Bobux, are made from soft leather and wear very much like socks so they are snug to her foot. They are so soft that they do not hinder her walking at all. For anyone out there getting ready to have a walker, I recommend these shoes as a must buy. We need to thank AJaye for this shoe idea.

Permalink Chasing the Easter Bunny

Sydney is getting much better at walking! I was gone for 3 days and when I returned its like she just completed some type of training camp. She cruises around all day long. As a bonus, she frequently carries something with her, like an Easter basket, for an added workout.

Permalink The Humpty Dance

Sydney has a new dance that she wants you all to learn. We call it the Humpty Dance because that seems to be one of the songs that inspires the moves. The basic move is a bounce up and down with occasional scream and some hand waving. Its going to be all the rage I hear. Take a look at the diva in action!

Permalink I Am The Stairmaster

Sydney has a new trick to show you all. Being the adventurous lady that she is, she decided to start following the dogs up the stairs. We were nervous until she proved that she could go both ways. Watch the Stairmaster in action!

Permalink My First Cold

We knew she had to get sick sooner or later. Her nose is constantly running and she has a raspy cough. Other then being much more whiney then normal she still sleeps through the night and plays as though nothing is wrong. To add even more discomfort, she also broke through two new top teeth last week. So instead of pictures of snotty noses we thought it best to show off her 9 month photos. There is one more pose we are saving for a later post. Eat your heart out boys, ain’t she a beauty!

Permalink I Already Have a Boyfriend

Kids always seem to look for other kids. Sydney saw this boy at dinner last night at a nearby table. He walked over to check him out. So we put Sydney down and she stood there and looked back at him. Everyone was surprised since she is only 10 months old and walking.

Permalink Whatcha Readin

Sydney was curious about the book that Wes was reading during his visit. As always, Sydney loves to have other people around to manipulate and show off in front of.

Permalink Forget the Walker

Sydney likes the new walker but more often she doesn’t have the time to go and get it from its parking spot. Watch her get there the old fashioned way.

Permalink Out of My Way

Sydney has been standing up from a sitting position unassisted for a few weeks now. Suddenly, over the past week, she has started taking steps. First it was one or two. Now, the world record is six. So Mom ran out and had to buy her a new toy to celebrate the accomplishment. Introducing the walker with a music box and a basketball hoop on the front. I think the people that make these toys are smoking something. Oh well. She loves it.

Here is video footage of this outdoor stroll. You will hear the music from the walker in the background. Remember if you can’t see or hear the video properly, you probably don’t have Windows Media Player 9. Get it for free here.

Permalink Splashing in the Pool

Sydney visited the Longmont Recreation Center for the first time today. After Hawaii, we wanted to get her started towards swimming. The water is very shallow at the end of the pool so she was able to crawl around. Occasionally, she would dunk her head under water and come up with a big smile.
