Are You Stinky Too?
Natalee found time from her busy ski schedule to share bath time with Sydney. I think its safe to say that Natalee enjoys Sydney but will not have children of her own for a while.

How I Lost My Finger
Sydney’s new toy is the paper shredder. She reaches in and pulls out all the shreds and either eats them or spreads them around the room.

Here is the “I am not guilty” crawl away…

Look, No Hands
We catch Sydney standing next to things and not holding on. The other day she even went to a full standing position from the middle of the floor without grabbing onto anything to pull herself up. We were stunned and couldn’t move to grab the camera.

Christmas Poo
Seen South Park? Well, on the show, they have Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo. He is this piece of poo that sings and danced and spreads good cheer. Sydney pulled this piece of foam out of her play set and we think it looks like Mr. Hankey. She must have it in her mouth — constantly.

Bite Me
Over the last few days, changes have been occuring inside Sydney. We have been waiting and waiting for this one and finally it started to break through. We have a tooth! Seemed like it was going to come out a long time ago but then it never showed up. Now, its visible. See it along the bottom there? Its pretty sharp if she bites you.

I Love Christmas
We are finally getting around to taking pictures of the many Christmas presents Syd got from her many fans. Here are just a couple of things. We will post more in the next few days. We have already shown you the Cruise-n-Crawl from Grandpa and Grandma Fuller.
Grandma and Grandpa Coburn got Sydney the LeapFrog Learning Table. This is without contest one of Syd’s favorite toys yet. She can easily pull herself up to stand on it and is then rewarded with all sorts of activities. Her favorite is a little box that sings when you open or shut the lid. We love to put items in the box to drive Syd crazy. She must promptly pull out anything placed inside the box. Notice the Strawberry Shortcake doll in the foreground which was also from the Coburn’s. Syd is now very afraid of Shortcake, she must have pulled a Chucky on her.

Here are the blocks from Uncle Kevin and Aunt Jamie. These are very cool because each block has something different inside. We love to put these in our mouth and throw them against Mom’s coffee table to make lots of noise. Mom could do without the second activity.

Thanks to everyone for all the great gifts. We will keep posting more pictures for you.
Baby Geek
Whenever Sydney gets near Dad’s computers, she loves to smack on the keyboard. Well, our neighbor Anda kindly donated a bunch of toys to this very needy baby. In the deal, Sydney received 2 laptops. Now, she has as many as Dad has! Here Sydney is doing some type of work — I think she was instant messaging her boyfriend.

My Own Prison
Enough was enough. We couldn’t leave Sydney alone for a minute without losing her. Her crawl is now a sprint crawl because she knows you are going to come and get her out of whatever she is trying to get into. So taking the advice of many, we broke the playpens out. And amazingly, she likes it. Somedays she will hang out in there for up to one hour just playing with all the toys that we pile in there. Lately, she has been utilizing this old friend seen here.

I Can Hold My Own Bottle
Our new task for the New Year is to slowly begin to ween Sydney. I have started by replacing one nursing a day with the bottle. As you can see Syd is taking to this bottle thing very well. For the first time today, Syd held the bottle by herself and drank it all up. By the way, if you look real close you may see the tip of her first tooth. Tis the reason for the weening.

Lots of Toys
Well, Sydney made out well over Christmas. She has plenty of toys that she moves between all day long to keep her busy — and to keep Mom from going insane. This particular contraption was from Grandma and Grandpa Fuller. It plays music and has these shoots for balls to roll through. The dogs enjoy watching it just as much as Sydney does!

My Friend Rachel
Tonight, we went over to Brian’s (one of my co-workers) home to have dinner. Sydney was mesmerized by Rachel, who is 2 years old. Babies love to watch what other older kids like to do. It took a while for them to warm up to each other but afterwards they were playing with toys together. At one point, Kim was tickling Sydney and Rachel asked, “Can you tickle me too?”.

A Girl From Nantucket — Well Almost
In a surprise move, Kim dropped by our old apartment, Nantucket, and took some pictures of Sydney in the park. There is our old apartment up and to the right on the top floor.
Mom was threating Sydney that she might have been born up there but Sydney didn’t think that was all bad — a park right behind the house, nice winter weather, and sharing a bedroom with Mom and Dad. What a deal!

AdKnowledge Crew
Kim and Sydney had lunch with Kim’s former co-workers from AdKnowledge, Mini and Oscar.

Take Your Daughter To Work
Today, Sydney went to visit Latitude to meet all of Dad’s co-workers. Since we will only be Latitude for about 4 more business days, this was a last chance to snap a photo in front of our sign. Everybody enjoyed meeting her.

Say Hello to My Turkish Friend
Sydney went on a chaperoned date with Sem tonight to Fiesta Del Mar. I think Sem was turned off when his date turned to him with creamed spinach spread all over her face and up her nose.

Stand Up
Sydney has been blasting through the milestones lately. Most happened during the holidays so I haven’t been able to capture them and provide the proper evidence here on the blog.
Just before Christmas, Sydney started pulling herself up onto things that were just her size. This started with couches at the various homes we visited during the holidays. Now that we are back home, she pulls herself up to a standing positiion on about anything - a couch, the stairs, a wall, whatever. She is pretty good at getting herself back down out of the position but every now and then, she hits her head.
So to honor this milestone, I posted video of one of her first stands at Grandma and Grandpa Coburn’s house. This one is a little slow. She is much quicker now.

Play That Funky Music
On Christmas Day, Sydney went to visit Uncle Dick. He played a number of songs for her on his harmonica. She loved it! Anything that makes noise is cool.

Wanna hear it yourself? Check out the video.

I Do Not Want To Go Home
Now Sydney thinks all she should get to do is travel and meet more and more people that think its fun to talk to her. Geez. Here we were at the airport yesterday headed home. She made enough noise on the glass that the guy loading luggage would wave up to her. She decided that she should show him Pooh.

Happy New Year
So around 8pm on New Year’s Eve, we walked Sydney out onto the strip. The road was shut down and the 300,000 in attendance began partying…and Sydney was one of them. She loved everything about it. People were screaming and she would scream back. She couldn’t stop clapping either. Everybody that walked by said, “Look at that baby!”. She was dressed in her party girl beads. As we walked Sydney and Grandma back to the room before Mom and Dad left to go to the show, Sydney couldn’t stop drawing attention to herself in the casino. She was clapping and screaming. She was very into it.
Sydney and Grandma watched the fireworks from inside the hotel room. Fireworks were launched from the tops of many different hotels simultaneously. Sydney thought they were really cool. When we got back to the room, it was clear that Sydney was partied out!

Bye Bye, Vegas. Man, this kid goes to Vegas on her first New Year’s Eve. How will we top this one?
