Spoiled? Yeah, Rotten
We were shopping tonight and it turns out that FAO Schwartz is closing their store here so everything in the store was 50% off. That means that things were priced at “normal” prices now. They had a zoo of safari animals that were near life-size and made for kids to sit on. Kim designed Sydney’s nursery as a jungle/safari room and today we found the missing link. Say hello to our new pet tiger and Sydney’s new best friend. Don’t think he will fit in the overhead bin on the plane ride home.

What’s So Funny?
Mom had Sydney and I stop to take a picture in front of this famous statue at Caesar’s Palace.

Baby in Vegas, Baby
We snapped a quick shot while at the airport. Notice that the baggage claim is right behind us. Yes, these are slots for you to play while you wait on your baggage. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our bags to come through. Some kind of airport/gambling conspiracy going on here.

Who Needs Santa?
Today, Sydney went around to all of Kim’s family for Christmas parties. She had a blast. We passed her around the room and she never quit showing off. She is a very happy and social baby. Sydney got quite a pile of presents at this first stop of many. I don’t think she will be that concerned about Santa as she gets older — Grandparents seem like they are the ticket to toyland for now.

Sydney had a chance to sit with her Uncle Tom and Aunt Susan. The previous meeting with Uncle Tom did not go so well. Sydney started crying and screaming. Tom sure has a way with the ladies, I guess. This one went much better. Sydney was intrigued by Tom’s glasses.

So yesterday, Christian, Sydney’s cousin for you following along at home, had some playtime with Sydney. It didn’t go so well. Christian started beating my poor daughter up in various ways — especially when Christian saw his own Mommy holding Sydney. Today went much better. Christian received this very exciting bus that he drove around the room. Sydney crawled her little knees off to follow him around with it. At one point, Christian placed the bus up on top of the bench and Sydney — for the first time ever — used the bench to pull herself up to a standing position to touch it. A woman on a mission!

President of My Fan Club
Today, Sydney had a meeting with Amy Thompson. Amy is the President of the Sydney Fan Club. Amy gave Sydney a Patrick doll, from SpongeBob SquarePants, which Sydney promptly shoved in her mouth. They had long discussions on hairstyles and correct number of shoes that a girl should have — lots seemed to be the right answer.
Once I moved the webcam out to Sydney’s play area, all productivity seems to have stopped in the Fort Wayne area. Since Sydney is not going to be on the webcam for about a week, this real life appearance will have to suffice.

My First Office Christmas Party
Today, Sydney went to Grandma Fuller’s work, Professional Office Systems, for their Christmas Party. Sydney met with Aunt Judi and Uncle Roger to discuss how their Grandchild, Sabine, was doing.

Grandma Burnt My Ass
Its bath night. Water felt good to Grandma. Sydney was placed into the water and her face slowly turn to a big frown and then we heard the cry. The water is too hot! You are burning my ass, Grandma! After cooling it down, it was was back to normal bathtime — with ducks, as always.

Hummering Along
Today, we took Sydney on another Hummer outing. Dad has the full story. Overall, she spent about 12 hours in the truck today and she was perfect the whole time. She is very easy to entertain, when she isn’t sleeping. Now, if she ends up with some kind of disorder when she is older because we shook her as a baby — oops.

Now Where Did She Go?
We lost Sydney again today in the house. After looking around, we couldn’t find her. Then I noticed that Wyatt was standing in front of his dog bed looking very confused. When I walked over, I found that someone else had crawled into the bed and laid claim to it.

More New Friends
Sydney has been receiving lots of new friends lately. Wes sent Sydney a Sully doll from the Monsters, Inc. movie. We also have a cat named Sully that happens to be one of Syd’s favorites as well. Thanks, Wes.

Then Sully got knocked down. Syd thought it was funny.

My High School
Tonight we had an HOA meeting at the local high school. Sydney was a bit noisy during the meeting so we had to take turns with her out in the hallway. Dad would put her all the way across the hall and go sit back over by the door and after about 5 minutes she would crawl all the way back across the hall to me.

A New Angle
Sydney has been going to bed at midnight and waking up at 6AM. It must be very interesting around the house because she just doesn’t seem to want to sleep. The other interesting turn is that on most nights, Dad is the only one that can get her to fall asleep. This was fun at first but now is bordering on annoying.
So since she is not in her crib that much, I thought I would move the camera down to our family room where Sydney spends most of her time crawling around the floor. You should get to see her a lot more this way for a while. For now, the camera is in the black hutch that she was crawling in the other day. Let us know if you catch a peek of her. She moves pretty fast!

Where Did She Go?
Sydney can really move around the house now. It not an official belly-off-the-ground crawl but she can quickly move from one end of the house to the other to get something she wants. Here, she decided that she was going to climb into our hutch.

Of course, her favorite place to crawl to is the Christmas tree. If we can’t find her, that is the first place to look. Mmmm, shiny presents. Last night, she was able to rip the paper off of one of her gifts. She is a natural.

Reading with Grandma
While Grandma Fuller visited, she read to Sydney everyday. At times Sydney enjoyed the books. But at other times she just wants to lick the books. Have a look!
Hairy Baby
No, this is not Sydney. Merced the cat likes to sleep in Sydney’s crib during the day for some reason. You might see other cats in the webcam from time to time. I guess it provides some entertainment because Syd does not like to be in her crib during the day. Maybe I should move the camera to Sydney’s play area one day for something different.

I Can Clap
Over the last week, Sydney has learned how to clap. Now its not very loud, but its very cute. You usually have to do it first and then she will follow you. Sometimes she does just start clapping all by herself though. We caught Grandpa Herbie clapping with Sydney one evening.

Custom Knitted Clothes
Grandma Fuller said we had to get a pictures of Sydney in her custom made outfit tonight.
