A Different Perspective

Tonight we have a special correspondent, Grandma Hakes, blogging:

You knew Sydney was “Pretty in Pink”.  Now you know she’s “Pretty in Yellow” too.  Today’s morning jogging suit is a Carter’s knit and Sydney at 8 pounds 10 ounces as of yesterday at the doctor’s fits every square inch lengthwise, with room to growth widthwise.  Sydney is developing new habits of her very own; she sleeps most comfortably with her arms outstretched above her head,  she makes two little sweak sounds when she is happily dreaming, and even when she’s hungry – she stops crying when she’s out on the deck enjoying the fresh air.  Yes, she’s quite a little charmer and she’s done just that with Mom, Dad and Grandma Hakes this week.  She looks right at you today, and listens very carefully to every word you’re saying – just like it’s sooo important to her.  Dad’s favorite trick is when Sydney throws both legs up at the same time — he thinks she’s very talented, you know.   Mom of course is best known for her feeding, which Mom and Sydney have mastered wonderfully — and Mom’s kisses are well received by Sydney as she turns her face to Mom’s cheek.  Well, this week has been a dream come true.  I will have to follow Sydney’s growth from Indiana next week – but Dad’s daily updates will be a lifesaver for me.   For other Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles on the schedule to visit —- be ready for a great visit.   Bye Sydney — Grandma and Grandpa Hakes love you VERY MUCH!!!!!
